Meet Christie
Christie Boyd – Therapy Assistant
Born and raised in the heart of Taranaki, I carry with me a deep sense of connection to the land, my whānau, and the cultural values that shaped my early years. This grounding continues to influence my approach to care; centred on empathy, respect, and holistic support.
Now based in Wellington, I work part-time with Nurture and Thrive CTC, supporting tamariki and their whānau to grow and flourish. With over a decade of experience in early childhood education, including roles in kindergartens and international nannying, I’ve developed a strong foundation in child development, family engagement, and culturally responsive practice. These experiences have enriched my understanding of diverse parenting styles and the importance of tailoring support to each child’s unique needs.
I hold a Bachelor of Teaching (ECE) and am a registered teacher. My philosophy is grounded in a child-led approach; fostering curiosity, creativity, and confidence while building meaningful relationships with whānau. I bring this same ethos to N+T, where I aim to empower children through play-based, functional support that honours their individuality and strengths.
Outside of work, I’m a proud mum of two and love spending time with my husband and children. I’m passionate about travel, nature, hiking, camping, yoga, music, and quiet moments with a good book or a walk along the beach. These personal joys fuel my commitment to wellbeing and balance; values I strive to share with the families I support.
